Introduction:

Background:

Orthofit was founded in 1998-99 to address the need in the market for research backed and performance oriented clinical Orthotic braces & supports for joints and footwear products. The objective then was to provide customers with products and services that work on three levels – prevention, cure and rehabilitation. So Orthofit started representing companies of international repute, bringing their cutting edge products to India. The intention was not to simply focus on the sale of products but rather to understand and evaluate the patients’ problems and present them with the appropriate solution.

Strategy:

During the early stages of marketing the management realized that although the products are designed to perform, customers would not get optimum results unless accompanied by appropriate evaluation and education by medical practitioners. That is why Orthofit strategically decided that rather than directly selling products over the retail counter, products would always be dispensed in consultation with general physicians, physiotherapists, orthopedic doctors or health care professionals, after conducting a bio-mechanical evaluation of the customers, analyzing their daily activities and lifestyle, identifying the appropriate product and/or therapy and educating the customer.

Growth:

Over time, through technical workshops and seminars, Orthofit has established a sizable network of physiotherapists & healthcare professionals across India through workshops and seminars. They conduct thorough evaluation of the patients including taking into account their daily activities and occupational hazards and only thereafter prescribe or dispense products and/or therapy to achieve the best results at the earliest.

In just over a decade, Orthofit has carved a niche for itself in this segment by ensuring that the client always gets the best – in terms of products as well as services. Patients referred to Orthofit are consistently well looked after.
